Dr. Schuyler Thornton is a New York City based flutist, teacher, and arts administrator. She is currently the flutist for the North American Broadway tour of Les Misérables and the Lecturer of Flute & Director of Flute Ensemble at Muhlenberg College. Schuyler recently performed in the Off-Broadway revivals of Stephen Schwartz's The Baker's Wife and Richard Rodgers' No Strings and with the Ohio Light Opera. Additionally, Dr. Thornton is on the flute faculty of Rutgers Community Arts and is the Treasurer of the New Jersey Flute Society.
She demonstrates that great talent is not only found in the shaping of musical phrases, technical knowledge and accuracy, but also in how one conducts oneself in and out of rehearsal with an attitude and personality that is amiable, courteous and respectful.
